Abstract
Evaluasi kelembapan dilakukan menggunakan metode Sorption-Desorption Test (SDT) dengan parameter area under the curve (AUC).
Abstract (English)
The peel of Citrus spp. (locally known asjeruk sambal) contains antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and steroids that can prevent the oxidation of oils and fats on the surface of the nails, thereby potentially providing a moisturizing effect. This study aims to determine the ability of the methanol fraction from Citrus peel to retain moisture in a nail care cream formulation. The Nail Care Cream was formulated into three different formulas: Formula I containing 0.1% methanol fraction, Formula II containing 0.2%, and Formula III containing 0.3% methanol fraction of Citrus peel. Moisture evaluation was conducted using the Sorption-Desorption Test (SDT) method with the Area Under the Curve (AUC) as the parameter. The results showed that glycerin had an AUC value of 665.586%, while the three formulas had AUC values of 537.213% (FI), 489.543% (FII), and 567.420% (FIII), respectively. These values indicate that the nail care cream formulations were able to retain water content during application and provided a moisturizing effect on the nails.
