Abstract

Abstract (English)

A study was conducted to evaluate the antipyretic activity of clove flower extract (Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr). The aim of this research was to determine the antipyretic properties of the extract and identify the concentration at which it exhibits significant antipyretic activity. This was an experimental study using 25 male mice, which were divided into five treatment groups as follows: positive control (K1), negative control (K2), extract at a concentration of 0.2% (K3), extract at a concentration of 0.4% (K4), and extract at a concentration of 0.6% (K5). Fever was induced using 10% peptone, and body temperature was measured at time intervals from 30 to 240 minutes. The reduction in body temperature was analyzed using one-way ANOVA, followed by LSD (Least Significant Difference) post-hoc testing. Based on the results, clove flower extract demonstrated significant antipyretic activity at a concentration of 0.6%.
