Abstract

Akar Bajakah (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) mengandung senyawa alkaloid, fenolik, dan flavonoid serta menunjukan aktifitas antioksidan. Bagian tanaman yang memiliki kandungan antioksidan adalah akar bajakah, untuk meningkatkan nilai guna akar bajakah sebagai obat tradisional maka dibuat sediaan lotion. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat sediaan lotion tabir surya dari ekstrak etanol akar bajakah (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) dan mengetahui konsentrasi Setil Alkohol yang dapat dijadikan sebagai pengental yang baik dalam sediaan lotion ekstrak akar bajakah (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan cara membuat sediaan lotion tabir surya ekstrak etanol akar bajakah dengan variasi pengental Setil Alkohol dengan perbandingan konsentrasi emulgator yang berbeda yaitu, pada formulasi I Setil Alkohol (4%), formulasi II Setil Alkohol (6%), dan formulasi III Setil Alkohol (8%). Tahapan selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan lotion tabir surya ekstrak etanol akar bajakah dan dilakukan uji mutu fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebat, uji daya proteksi, uji viskositas, dan uji tipe emulsi. Bedasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukan bahwa formulasi I, II, III telah memenuhi persyaratan uji fisik sediaan lotion tabir surya yang baik.

Abstract (English)

Bajakah root (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) contains alkaloid, phenolic, and flavonoid compounds and shows antioxidant activity. The part of the plant that has antioxidant content is bajakah root, to increase the use value of bajakah root as a traditional medicine, lotion preparations are made. The purpose of this study was to make sunscreen lotion preparations from ethanol extract of bajakah root (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) and to determine the concentration of Cetyl Alcohol which can be used as a good thickener in bajakah root extract lotion preparations (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.). The method used in this research is experimental by making sunscreen lotion preparations of ethanol extracts of bajakah roots with a variety of Cetyl Alcohol thickeners with different emulgator concentration ratios, namely, in formulation I Cetyl Alcohol (4%), formulation II Cetyl Alcohol (6%), and formulation III Cetyl Alcohol (8%). The next step is to make sunscreen lotion from ethanol extract of bajakah root and test the physical quality of the preparation including organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, dispersion test, protection test, biscosity test, and emulsion type test. Based on the results of the study, it shows that formulations I, II, III have met the requirements of the physical test of a good sunscreen lotion preparation.
