Abstract
Abstract (English)
Fever is a disease characterized by an increase in temperature above normal. This study aims to determine the antipyretic activity and determine the dose that provides antipyretic activity of the ethanol extract of lakum leaf (Cayratia trifolia L.) against male white mice (Mus musculus L.) induced by peptone 5%. The study was conducted experimentally using 15 mice divided into five groups: negative control (Na-CMC 1%), positive control (paracetamol 65 mg/KgBB), and three treatment groups with extract doses of 300 mg/KgBB, 400 g/KgBB, and 500 mg/KgBB. The maceration method was used to obtain the extract. The mice were induced with a 5% peptone solution subcutaneously, until there was an increase in
rectal temperature ≥ 0.60C, after which they were given an oral test solution. Then rectal temperature was measured using an infrared thermometer at 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180, 210, and 240 minutes. The results of the study showed that lakm leaf ethanol extract at doses of 300 mg/KgBB, 400 mg/KgBB, and 500 mg/KgBB had antipyretic activity. This is shown by the results of statistical analysis where all extract groups have significant differences in the negative control group (P<0.05) with a percentage of antipyretic power with a dose of 300 mg/KgBB of 116.66%, a dose of 400 mg/KgBB of 98.01%, and a dose of 500 mg/KgBB of 90.87%
