Abstract

Blush on stick merupakan sediaan kosmetik dekoratif yang digunakan untuk memberi warna alami pada pipi. Bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) dan buah naga merah (Selenicereus monacanthus (Lem) D.R.Hunt) digunakan sebagai bahan aktif karena mengandung antosianin, flavonoid, dan polifenol yang berfungsi sebagai pewarna alami sekaligus antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan blush on stick dari kombinasi ekstrak bunga rosella dan buah naga merah serta mengevaluasi mutu fisiknya. Ekstrak diperoleh melalui metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96% dengan penambahan asam sitrat 2% dan natrium metabisulfit 0,1%. Evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, dan daya poles. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa semua formula memiliki bentuk padat, aroma khas oleum rosae, serta warna kehijauan. Uji homogenitas menunjukkan hasil yang seragam dan tidak ditemukan butiran kasar. Uji pH menunjukkan bahwa semua formula berada dalam rentang pH kulit, yaitu F1 (6,39); F2 (5,86); dan F3 (5,22). Uji daya poles menunjukkan bahwa warna menempel secara merata dengan lima kali olesan. Meskipun terjadi perubahan warna akibat degradasi antosianin, senyawa flavonoid dan polifenol tetap mendukung keberadaan aktivitas antioksidan. Blush on stick ini menunjukkan karakteristik fisik yang baik.

Abstract (English)

Blush on stick is a decorative cosmetic product used to provide a natural color to the cheeks. Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) and red dragon fruit (Selenicereus monacanthus (Lem) D.R.Hunt) are used as active ingredients due to their content of anthocyanins, flavonoids, and polyphenols, which function as natural colorants and antioxidants. This study aimed to formulate a blush on stick using a combination of roselle and red dragon fruit extracts and to evaluate its physical properties. Extracts were obtained using maceration with 96% ethanol, added with 2% citric acid and 0.1% sodium metabisulfite. The formulation was evaluated through organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, and spreading ability. The results showed that all formulations had a solid texture, characteristic rose scent, and greenish color. The homogeneity test showed no coarse particles. The pH test results were F1 (6.39); F2 (5.86); and F3 (5.22), all within the skin's pH range. The spreading test showed even color distribution after five strokes. Although color changes occurred due to anthocyanin degradation, the presence of flavonoids and polyphenols likely contributed to sustained antioxidant activity. The blush on stick demonstrated acceptable physical characteristics.
