Abstract

Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, penggunaan bahan alami dalam kosmetik, termasuk cat kuku, semakin diminati oleh konsumen yang peduli terhadap Kesehatan dan lingkungan. Buah senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.) merupakan tanaman yang banyak tumbuh di Indonesia dan memiliki potensi sebagai pewarna alami karena kandungan antosianin dan flavonoidnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan dan mengetahui sifat fisik sediaan cat kuku ekstrak etanol buah senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.). Ekstrak yang diperoleh melalui metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dan ekstrak etanol buah senduduk (Melastoma Malabathricum L.) diformulasikan dengan tiga konsentrasi ekstrak yang berbeda. Formula I (0%), Formula II (5%), dan Formula III (10%). Evaluasi sediaan yang dilakukan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji pH, homogenitas, dan uji hedonik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sediaan cat kuku pada formulasi I bewarna putih, formula II bewarna merah, dan pada formulasi III bewarna merahkecoklatan. Pada formulasi ketiga berbentuk cairan kental dan berbau khas. Sediaan yang dibuat sudah memenuhi syarat pH yang baik serta homogen. Pada uji hedonik formula III lebih disukai dibandingkan formula I dan II.Perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol buah senduduk berpengaruh signifikan terhadap warna sediaan cat kuku, semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol buah senduduk, semakin intens warna merah yang dihasilkan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol buah senduduk dapat digunakan sebagai pewarna alami yang efektif untuk sediaan cat kuku

Abstract (English)

In recent years, the use of natural ingredients in cosmetics, including nail polish, has become increasingly popular among consumers who care about health and the environment. Senduduk fruit (Melastoma malabathricum L.) is a plant that grows widely in Indonesia and has potential as a natural dye because of its anthocyanin and flavonoid content. This study aims to formulate and determine the physical properties of nail polish preparations from ethanol extract of senduduk fruit (Melastoma malabathricum L.). The extract obtained through the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent and ethanol extract of senduduk fruit (Melastoma Malabathricum L.) was formulated with three different extract concentrations. Formula I (0%), Formula II (5%), and Formula III (10%). Evaluation of the preparations carried out included organoleptic tests, pH tests, homogeneity, and hedonic tests. The results of this study showed that the nail polish preparation in formulation I was white, formula II was red, and in formulation III was reddish-brown. In the third formulation, it was a thick liquid and had a distinctive odor. The preparation made has met the requirements of good pH and is homogeneous. In the hedonic test, formula III is preferred over formulas I and II. The difference in the concentration of ethanol extract of senduduk fruit has a significant effect on the color of the nail polish preparation, the higher the concentration of ethanol extract of senduduk fruit, the more intense the red color produced. This shows that ethanol extract of senduduk fruit can be used as an effective natural dye for nail polish preparations.
