Abstract

Abstract (English)

Hyperuricemia is a condition characterized by elevated levels of uric acid in the blood, which can lead to various health complications, such as gout arthritis. This study aimed to determine the antihyperuricemic activity of the ethanol extract of pakcoy mustard leaves (Brassica rapa L.) in male white mice (Mus musculus). The methodology employed a laboratory experimental approach with a completely randomized design, where hyperuricemia-induced mice were divided into groups receiving different treatments: a negative control (Na CMC), a positive control (allopurinol), and varying doses of the pakcoy mustard leaf extract. Uric acid levels were measured before and after treatment. The results demonstrated that the ethanol extract of pakcoy mustard leaves significantly reduced hyperuricemia in mice, with a sig. value <0.05, indicating a statistically meaningful decrease in uric acid levels compared to the negative control group.
