FORMULASI LOTION FRAKSI ETANOL DAUN NIPAH (Nypa fruticans Wurmb.)

Abstract

Nipah (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, glikosida, saponin, tannin, dan steroid/triterpenoid yang berfungsi sebagai antioksidan kategori sangat kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fraksi daun nipah (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan lotion dan untuk mengetahui evaluasi fisik sediaan lotion fraksi daun nipah (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) dengan berbagai konsentrasi setil alkohol telah memenuhi persyaratan atau tidak. Ekstrak etanol daun nipah diperoleh dengan cara diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi. Fraksi dibuat menggunakan 10 gram ekstrak etanol untuk difraksinasi. Selanjutnya, fraksi diformulasikan ke dalam sediaan lotion dengan variasi konsentrasi setil alkohol yaitu 2%, 3%, dan 4%. Evaluasi fisik dari sediaan lotion meliputi evaluasi fisik organoleptis, homogenitas, daya sebar, pH, tipe emulsi, dan hedonik. Hasil evaluasi fisik organoleptis ketiga formula berbau khas peppermint, memiliki tekstur semi soid, dan berwarna coklat. Uji homogenitas menunjukkan sediaan bersifat homogen. Uji daya sebar masing-masing formula sebesar 6,48 cm (F1), 6,32 cm (F2), dan 5,82 cm (F3). Uji pH dari ketiga formula sebesar 6. Uji tipe emulsi termasuk kedalam tipe air dalam minyak (A/M). Uji hedonik masing-masing formula mimiliki nilai sangat suka 60% (F1), sangat suka 48,33% (F2), dan sangat suka 40% (F3). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa sediaan lotion fraksi daun nipah (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi setil alkohol memenuhi persyartan sediaan lotion yang baik.

Abstract (English)

Nipah (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) contains flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins, and steroids/triterpenoids which function as very strong antioxidants. This study aims to determine whether the fraction of nipah leaves (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) can be formulated as a lotion preparation and to determine whether the physical evaluation of the lotion preparation of nipah leaf fraction (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) with various concentrations of cetyl alcohol has met the requirements or not. Ethanol extract of nipah leaves was obtained by extraction using the maceration method. The fraction was made using 10 grams of ethanol extract for fractionation. Furthermore, the fraction was formulated into a lotion preparation with variations in the concentration of cetyl alcohol, namely 2%, 3%, and 4%. The physical evaluation of the lotion preparation included organoleptic physical evaluation, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, emulsion type, and hedonic. The results of the organoleptic physical evaluation of the three formulas had a distinctive peppermint odor, had a semi-solid texture, and were brown in color. Homogeneity test shows that the preparation is homogeneous. The spreadability test of each formula is 6.48 cm (F1), 6.32 cm (F2), and 5.82 cm (F3). The pH test of the three formulas is 6. The emulsion type test is included in the water in oil (A/M) type. The hedonic test of each formula has a very liking value of 60% (F1), very liking 48.33% (F2), and very liking 40% (F3). So it can be concluded that the lotion preparation of nipah leaf fraction (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) with various variations in cetyl alcohol concentration meets the requirements for a good lotion preparation.
