Abstract
Indonesia adalah negara beriklim tropis dimana sangat memungkinkan kulit untuk terus terpapar sinar matahari. Salah satu tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai tabir surya adalah Daun Ketapang (Terminalia catappa Linn.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan dan mengevaluasi sifat fisik sediaan lotion ekstrak etanol daun ketapang (Terminalia catappa Linn.). Ekstrak diperoleh melalui metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% dan lotion ekstrak etanol daun ketapang (Terminalia catappa Linn.) diformulasikan dengan tiga formula Formula I (1%), Formula II (2%), dan Formula III (3%). Evaluasi yang dilakukan meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, daya proteksi, daya sebar, pH, viskositas, dan tipe emulsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lotion pada ketiga formula memiliki warna kuning-kehijauan. Lotion pada ketiga formula yang dihasilkan homogen, dapat memproteksi dan memiliki daya sebar yang baik, memenuhi syarat ph dan viskositas serta menghasilkan tipe emulsi minyak dalam air (M/A).
Abstract (English)
Indonesia is a tropical country where it is very possible for the skin to be continuously exposed to sunlight. One of the plants that has the potential as a sunscreen is Ketapang Leaf (Terminalia catappa L.). This study aims to formulate and evaluate the physical properties of ethanol extract lotion preparations of Ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa L.). The extract was obtained through the maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent and ethanol extract lotion of Ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa L.) was formulated with three formulas Formula I (1%), Formula II (2%), and Formula III (3%). The evaluations carried out included organoleptic tests, homogeneity, protection power, spreadability, pH, viscosity, and emulsion type. The results showed that the lotion in the three formulas had a yellow-greenish color. The lotion in the three formulas produced was homogeneous, could protect and had good spreadability, met the pH and viscosity requirements and produced an oil-in-water (O/A) emulsion type.
